The magic of Food Shack Street Food might seem diluted during the lunch rush when long wait times can occur, especially on weekends. If looking for a quieter visit, aim for early mornings or late afternoons. Another point of contention is the limited parking options, which can be challenging during busy events or weekends, requiring visitors to plan accordingly.
Lastly, while the lovely ambiance captivates many, it may be a bit too casual for those seeking a more upscale dining experience.
Stopped by for a quick drink. Located on the main road through Leigh-on-Sea. Nice Italian/English (mostly Italian) restaurant. Not a huge place and the tables inside are a bit tightly packed but thankfully we went after the lunch time rush so were able to get a table inside because it was so hot outside, they do have seats outside on a balcony along the front though. Really beautiful look to the place, modern with a Mediterranean feel.We didn't stay to eat but the menu did look very enticing. Service was very welcoming, inviting and friendly, thanks to the young lady working the bar, she was very helpful. Drinks choice was good at reasonable prices. If we get chance to visit Leigh-on-Sea again I'd definitely like to try the food there.
We popped into The Food Shack for a quick drink and a little nibble, and we were so glad we did! The battered cod was absolutely beautiful—the fish was fresh, and the batter was soft and light. The staff were also lovely and made our visit a real pleasure. We'll definitely be back again soon
Had calamari to start followed by specials pasta and halibut. Large portions, very hot and tasty. It was quiet compared to some other places but was definitely worth a visit.
Terry and the team welcomed us in with open arms and made our special evening one not to forget! The pre ordered fish boil is one not to be missed and exceeded our expectations! This hidden gem in old Leigh is absolutely one of the best restaurants we have been too! Thank you! 🤩
This is a hidden gem! I took my mum here for lunch on a Friday - the service from Terry was absolutely exceptional – friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. The food itself was delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. We only planned to pop in for one course, but it was so good we couldn’t resist staying for three! Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and brilliant service.
I see different opinions here but decided to try. I booked a table and wasn't disappointed!!!! What a delicious and fresh food! Great experience, although we had a new waitress serving us, but she was super helpful! The restaurant was super busy, sometimes a bit scary, especially by the sea. You never know what to expect! Highly recommend! And we are back... Absolutely delicious! Fresh and soooo tasty... Great staff too
Popped in for lunch when we were at the beach nearby - service was great (friendly and attentive but not overbearing) and the food was outstanding. Everything was cooked perfectly and the seafood was all extremely fresh-tasting. Dessert was also fantastic. Very unpretentious environment and a classic seafood menu with amazing flavours. Clearly a place that really cares about doing things to the highest standard. We spent about £80 on two mains, one dessert (big enough to share) and two rounds of soft drinks including service and felt it was very reasonable value given the cost of ingredients, location and extremely generous portion sizes. Will be back.
